Betreff des Beitrags:	Token aus Britisch-Indien
Mit diesem unscheinbaren Stück will ich ein neues Kapitel eröffnen, in British India gabs natürlich auch jede Menge Token für verschiedenste Zwecke. Hier eine Kantinenmarke der Phoenix Mills aus Bombay. Dieses Unternehmen wurde 1905 gegründet und war eine Baumwollspinnerei und -weberei. Die Form des Tokens entspricht der einer 4 Anna Münze, deshalb nehme ich an, daß der Token auch vier Annas galt und noch aus britischer Zeit stammt. Heute Abend muß das Stück noch in Salmiakgeist baden, ehe es in den Kasten kommt. Bei Pridmore ist das Stück nicht aufgeführt. An interesting piece. When I saw its shape, "4-annas" was the first thing through my mind, but you've already been there. I will mention, though you know it already, that the distinctive outline of the 4-annas was adopted when the copper-nickel coin debuted as a postwar expedient in 1919. (Might help you refine your guesses as to its date, especially as the silver 1/4-rupee soon returned, in 1925.) Nice! v.
