HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS
COS III
Modius/Schöpfkelle

Das ist ein seltener Typ, der "Modius" ist die Priestermütze des flamen dialis, in Gemini II, Nr. 361, habe ich die Münze so beschrieben:
HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS, bust laureate right, fold of cloak on front shoulder / COS III, sacrificial knife, lituus, priestly cap decorated with horizontal herringbone pattern visible at sides, and ladle, all resting on ax, which lies horizontally, head downwards. BMCRE 455, pl. 55.12 (same reverse die). Cohen 455 (Paris, 15 Fr.). Strack 190 pl. III (Berlin, same reverse die). Very rare variant including the cap (apex) of the Flamen Dialis and with an ax functioning as the ground line. A quick search turns up only seven other specimens of this denarius, of which the four illustrated are all from the same reverse die as ours: BMCRE 455, specimens in Berlin, Vienna, and Paris reported by Cohen and Strack, Trau Sale lot 1142 (not illustrated), Berk Cat.113, 2000, 254, and the Mazzini specimen (ex Magnaguti 337 and Münzhandlung Basel 3, 1935, Waldeck, lot 385). This type is not in Glasgow nor in the Reka Devnia hoard.
Auch dein Exemplar ist von demselben Rs.Stempel wie das Gemini-Stück und wie die vier anderen mit Bild.
