Yes, you are right. I confused spacecraft and missile, which is in German the same word.

We should be glad these missiles never being launched.

Absolutely yes--so far, so good....

Recently on my home-forum we were polling our favorite San Marino year-sets. My own favorite is the 1983 set of coins warning of the spectre of nuclear war. Some disturbing imagery. Effective. Arresting.

Here's another medal that contains "space-flown" metal, struck for folks who contributed in some fashion to the success of Apollo 8.

The design of the medal leaves a lot to be desired, I think, but it does explain its purpose well.
